Jewellery Making with Silver Clay – One Day Beginners Workshop

Join us on our one day beginners workshop to learn the fundamentals of creating your own beautiful solid silver jewellery.

This workshop is aimed at those with little or no experience or working with silver clay. After the workshop, you will have the knowledge and skills to be able to start creating your own designs, in the comfort of your own home.

Silver clay is made up of very fine particles of pure silver, water and a non toxic binder. When your piece is fired, the binder burns away, leaving you with solid silver.

Guided by your instructor you’ll make four/five pieces (more, if you work on a smaller scale) of solid silver jewellery. What you choose to make is entirely up to you, you will have access to all our different textures and texture matts, moulds, or even create your own moulds with some of the wonderful shells or buttons we have. You will also be able to include a gem stone or two should you wish.

You will learn the process of making jewellery with silver clay, from start to finish. The first part of the day focusing upon how to handle, roll, shape, texture and mould it, before drying and refining. The second part of the day will foes upon torch firing, polishing and learning how to Patina. Your jewellery will be ready to take home with you on the day.

If you have a particular design/s in mind, please do let us know ahead of the workshop, so we can discuss and plan the workshop to suit your needs.

Workshops available on Saturdays and Sundays. Each workshop will last six hours.

The workshop cost of £130 includes silver clay, use of tools on the day, sterling silver jump rings/earring wires, up to two fireable gem stones, printed notes and of course tea/coffee and biscuits. Please bring a packed lunch with you.
