Jewellery Making with Precious Metal Silver Clay – Botanical Themed – at The Flower Girl (2 Station Buildings, Birmingham Road, Water Orton, Birmingham, B46 1SR)

£80.00

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORKSHOP IS HELD AT THE FLOWER GIRL (2 Station Buildings, Birmingham Road, Water Orton, Birmingham, B46 1SR) on Sunday 5tth July 10am – 1pm

Join us on our three hour, Jewellery Making with Precious Metal Silver Clay, botanical themed workshop and learn the fundamentals of creating your own beautiful solid silver jewellery.

Guided by your instructor you’ll use 7 grams of silver clay to make approximately two pieces of solid silver jewellery. The number of pieces you make will be dependant upon the size you make your pieces. We have a large amount of pre made moulds, commercially bought and made by us, these moulds include flowers, leaves, and various botanical inspired moulds, and various little creatures that you can embellish your pieces with such as bees, dragon flys etc.

We always try to bring a selection of flowers, leaves and natures little finds that you could take a mould from (please note however that whether we have these and which we do have, will be dependant upon the time of year)

Please do bring your own flowers, leaves or anything you want to take a mould from to be turned into jewellery.

What you choose to make (charms/pendants/earrings – on wires) is entirely up to you. Please note that ring making will NOT be covered

You will learn the process of making jewellery with silver clay from start to finish. After learning how to capture your impressions, you’ll then focus upon how to handle, roll and shape, before drying and refining. The second part of the session will then focus upon firing (in the kiln), polishing and learning how to patina. Your jewellery will be ready to take home with you on the day.

Precious Metal Silver clay is made up of very fine particles of recycled silver, water and a non toxic binder. When your piece is fired, the binder burns away, leaving you with solid fine silver. The process is truly magical. Art Clay fine (99.9%) silver will be used during this workshop.

You may get a little dusty, so we’ll provide an apron for you to wear on the day. Please don’t wear open toed shoes or sandals.

This workshop is aimed at those with no little or no experience of working with Silver Clay.
