Join us on our fabulous Precious Metal Silver Clay – Charm Taster Workshop, where you will learn the process of making ONE charm with Precious Metal Silver Clay, from start to finish. You’ll learn how to handle, roll, shape and texture the silver clay, before drying and refining. You’ll then be shown how your jewellery is fired in the kiln, and finish the session by polishing your charm. Charm will be ready to take home with you at the end of the workshop!
(please note that no torch firing will be done in this session due the length of the workshop)
What is Precious Metal Silver Clay?
Precious Metal Silver Clay is a truly magical material to work with! It is made up of millions of tiny particles of recycled silver, which is mixed with an organic binder and water, to make it into a material which can be easily shaped, moulded and textured, similar to pottery clay. Once fired, the binder burns away, resulting in a solid piece of silver! It is an exciting and addictive process, so be prepared to be hooked!

It is £55 per person.

You’ll make ONE small sized charm.
How long is the workshop?
This taster workshop runs for two hours.
Who is this workshop suitable for?
This workshop is perfect for total beginners to silver clay, or those want to refresh their basic knowledge.
What’s included in the price of the workshop?
4 grams of silver clay, ONE jump ring, use of tools on day and an organza pouch for your pendant is included in the price. Advice on where to purchase your own silver clay kit and a discount code for 15% off silver clay from one of our suppliers of precious metal silver clay.
What silver clay will I use during the workshop?
You will use Art Clay Fine Silver, which is 99.9% pure silver.
Anything else I need to know?
You may get a little dusty, so we will provide an apron for you to wear on the day. Please don’t wear open toed shoes or sandals, and ensure long hair is tied back.
How many students are there per class?
The number of students per workshop will depend upon the venue, but will be no more than eight. At our own studio in Hinckley it will be a maximum of five students per class. If you are wanting to book a private class or group booking please get in touch.

This course is run by Charlotte Wakeling, who is founder and designer at Felix & Reuben Keepsake Jewellery, based in Hinckley, South West Leicestershire. Charlotte is an experienced jeweller with a degree in jewellery and silversmithing. Full payment is taken to secure your place on a workshop. Please note that we can only provide refunds or transfers to another date, in the event of a workshop being cancelled due to insufficient numbers of students or unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, you will be notified and full payment will be refunded or a different course date offered.
Please note that NO transfers or refunds will be given for workshops missed due to holidays or any other personal reasons. Please ensure that you can attend on the chosen date before making payment and committing to the date.
If you are ill (including Covid) please do not attend, and we will offer a different workshop date, however, you must have let us know before the workshop takes place, in order for a different date to be offered. If you only let us know during the scheduled workshop or after the workshop has taken place, an alternative date will NOT be offered and NO refund will be given.
The only instance where a refund will be provided is if the workshop is cancelled due to insufficient numbers or unforeseen circumstances. A refund will not be provided in any other circumstance, only a different date offered
