Join us on our fabulous three hour Precious Metal Silver Clay – Hammered Earrings workshop.
You’ll make ONE pair of earrings (studs or on ear wires)
Please note that this workshop will involve texturing your silver with light hammers and a small amount of soldering, if you choose to make studs. If you don’t want to use hammers then we suggest you book onto one of our other precious metal silver clay workshops. The session will begin with a drink – tea or coffee and a briefing on workshop health and safety and what you can expect to achieve on the session, and also view samples.
You’ll be guided through the whole process of making your jewellery by Charlotte. During this workshop you’ll learn both precious metal clay and traditional silversmithing techniques.
Please note that during this workshop your jewellery will be made from fine silver.
You’ll learn how to handle, roll and refine your pieces of precious metal silver clay. You’ll then learn the firing process. Once fired you’ll add a texture to each of your earrings.
You will be able to choose from a number of different shapes, using our templates / cutters or draw your own shape, or if you’ve attended our hammered necklace workshop, you can make your earrings to match your pendant.
Please note that you will be using light hammers to texture your jewellery. If you are not comfortable using hammers, you can book onto our other full day precious metal silver clay workshop, where you will texture your pieces before firing. You’ll finish the workshop by refining and polishing your pieces to a high shine.
You can choose to make a pair of stud earrings or earrings with ear wires. If opting for stud earrings you will learn how to solder the ear posts on. You will receive two ear backs. If opting for the dangly earring option you will receive jump rings and ear wires.
All components, jump rings, ear posts, backs etc are made from sterling silver, but the main charm pieces of the jewellery are made from fine silver.
Your jewellery will be ready to wear home at the end of the workshop.

What’s included in the price of the workshop?
6 grams of silver clay, use of tools on day and an organza pouch for your jewellery is included in the price. Advice on where to purchase your own silver clay kit and a discount code for 15% off silver clay from one of our suppliers of precious metal silver clay.
What silver clay will I use during the workshop?
You will use Art Clay Fine Silver, which is 99.9% pure silver.
Anything else I need to know?
You may get a little dusty, so we will provide an apron for you to wear on the day. Please don’t wear open toed shoes or sandals, and ensure long hair is tied back.
